Rose Garden 2003.

This page shows the rose garden my wife planted along the front walkway

to our home. No chemical fertilizers were ever used. The ground only receives

horse manure from the surrounding neighbors and

banana peels tossed in whenever available.

The rose bushes were planted farther apart than is recommended

and still they grow to crowd each other.

She has several types of lavender as companion plants

and they are thriving as well they reach almost 5 feet tall

by summer and will be sprawling over the walkway

if not trimmed back on a regular basis

This large pink bush is a Queen Elizabeth. It's about six feet tall

right now but will grow to about 8 feet by summer

.

This is a rose from her Joseph's Coat rose bush.

This is a close up of some buds on the Queen Elizabeth.

The blooms are just starting.

By june this will be a flood of colors.
